Director, puppet maker and all round excellent human Caitlin Strongarm and I joined forces to create a little bit of lockdown art. We made this short fast and we’re pretty proud of how it turned out. Special thanks to Bradley Taylor for jumping in on this.
A Modern Guide to Heroism & Sidekickery is Published!

The nice people at Olcan have turned my words into an actual book. It’s been such a journey moving these characters out of my brain, onto the stage and now into print! I’m so proud of it though, and really pleased to think about my confused face living on other peoples bookshelves.

A Modern Hero hits Australia!
I’ve been back home in Australia the past month doing the Christmas thing with family and getting ready to take A Modern Guide to Heroism & Sidekickery on the road. We’ve already done Brisbane Powerhouse’s Wonderland Festival and We’re gearing up to hit Fringe World in Perth, Stirling Fringe and Adelaide Fringe Festival before heading home to London. It’s been great so far, check out what Scenestr had to say about the show:
“Michelle Zahner is continuing to develop a thoughtful piece of writing and bringing it to life with charm, humour and heart. Whatever she chooses to do next, it will be worthwhile checking out.” – Lloyd Marken
You can check out the full review here and follow what’s happening on the tour on my facebook page here.
Hanging Around with Rangzen
I spent the last week working with Dominic Dichen and an amazing team of creatives using physical theatre and circus to explore how we can respond to the political situation in Tibet. The project was so full of passion and curiosity. Got my fingers crossed we’ll get to move the piece past this first creative development!
Creating Monsters
I recently performed in Screen Rebel’s REBIRTH showcase, bringing Kai Henderson’s screenplay PERSEPHONE: A FRANKENSTEIN STORY to life for the first time. I played The Creature in this modern, gender swapped retelling of the classic Frankenstein story. I had a ton of fun, made some new friends and have brought my shamble-stumble to a new level.
